Official itemization

WoW Forever Items & Itemization

Blizzard's Deep Dive now provides a substantial official baseline for how gear is changing in Forever. This page tracks the confirmed design rules and named examples without pretending a complete item database already exists.

Blizzard-confirmed information. The core facts in this section come from official World of Warcraft: Forever announcements or panel recaps. Any research-only detail is called out separately rather than blended into the official record.

Confirmed itemization changes

Spell, melee, and ranged Hit are consolidated into one Hit stat; Crit is consolidated in the same way.
Weapon Skill remains, but item-granted Weapon Skill is reduced.
Bonus Healing also grants one-third of its value as Bonus Damage.
Caster weapons properly carry spell damage and healing values.
New item effects can reduce the chance that attacks are parried or dodged.
Trinkets lean more heavily into situational effects instead of generic stat blocks.
Biome-specific and creature-specific item effects are part of the new itemization direction.
Every dungeon drop has been reviewed, with hundreds of new drops added.
Unique dungeon boss items are upgraded to blue quality.
Set bonuses are being reworked, quest rewards add more role choices, world-drop epics are stronger, and rare creatures receive hundreds of new drops.
