Raids
WoW Forever Raids
Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, and Onyxia’s Lair are Blizzard-confirmed raid destinations. The September 17 Q&A also clarified the long-term format: every raid tier is intended to include both a 10-player and a 20-player raid, while Onyxia remains a 40-player launch raid.

Official September 17 Q&A rules
These rules come directly from Blizzard’s official developer Q&A rather than media reporting.
- • Every raid tier is intended to have both a 10-player and a 20-player raid; Flex is not planned at launch.
- • Cross-faction play is not supported; Horde and Alliance remain separate for group content.
- • Dungeons and raids use one difficulty, with no Heroic difficulty layer.
Official Legacy raid challenges
Blizzard’s September 23 Legacy guide confirms three raid challenges and their required boss counts. These facts are used only as Legacy challenge requirements, not as evidence for boss names, encounter order, or loot.
- • Defeat Onyxia
- • Defeat all bosses
- • Defeat all bosses
Additional rules from a developer interview
The following rules come from But Why Tho’s direct interview with the WoW Classic development team, not a Blizzard-hosted article, so they are labeled as media-reported evidence.
- • Difficulty does not automatically scale with group size or player level; players can later overpower the same content through levels and gear.
- • The first new raids do not require an attunement to enter.
- • Attunement requirements for later raids remain unconfirmed.
